Seminary Graduate Scholarship
BYU–Hawaii awards a one-year, full-tuition scholarship to all incoming freshmen from Hawaii who graduated from seminary.
If prospective students plan to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before attending BYU–Hawaii or at any point during their first three semesters, the scholarship can be deferred.
Any high school senior who graduates from high school and seminary in Hawaii qualifies for a one-year, three consecutive semesters, full-tuition scholarship.
Students must take a full-time load (minimum of 12 credits for the Fall and Winter semesters, 8 for the Spring semester) and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA for the duration of their scholarship.
Federal financial aid and outside scholarships can be combined with the Seminary Graduate Scholarship. However, if they qualify for both, Hawaii students will have to choose between the Seminary Graduate Scholarship and work-study scholarships (including the David O. McKay Presidential Scholarship).
The Seminary Graduate Scholarship can be used subsequently with the Return Missionary Scholarship.
Students can defer to serve a mission (must be admitted or readmitted to BYU–Hawaii within 12 months of release).
There is no application for the Seminary Graduate Scholarship. Admitted students who complete their CES application by the standard deadlines of the semester to which they are applying will be automatically reviewed.
